ExtensionSt. John's College Extension was founded in 1947 as the college's first adult and continuing division. The Extension offers working adults the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency certificate.
High SchoolFounded under the auspices of the Society of Jesus in 1887, St. John's College high school division is a Catholic, four-year boys' school. The High School exists to educate academically talented young men in a Jesuit environment of self-discipline, love of learning, and service to others.
Junior CollegeSt. John's College Junior College was founded in 1952 as a post-secondary institution offering programs that are generally the equivalent of the first two years of a four-year baccalaureate programme. The Junior College consists of the overall body of students and faculty who are administratively and academically organised into two schools - liberal arts and professional studies - each guided by the same set of academic policies and procedures, registration policies and procedures, and course numbering system.
School of Liberal ArtsWithin the Junior College, the School of Liberal Arts offers associate degrees in various fields of study in the natural sciences and mathematics, social sciences, humanities, computer and information sciences, business studies and economics. The School of Liberal Arts targets the traditional student who would have recently graduated from high school. An education in the School of Liberal Arts prepares students to pursue further studies and for a lifetime of curiosity, inquiry, reflection, and personal growth.
School of Professional StudiesWithin the Junior College, the School of Professional Studies offers associate degrees in various fields of study in the arts and sciences, management, education and human services. The School of Professional Studies targets working adults and traditional students who seek training focused on refining the skills necessary for employment in the changing labour market. The School of Professional Studies, through the Institute for Workforce and Economic Development, awards certificates in a wide range of fields and also offers workshops and professional training.
