New Student Orientation
August 5-6, 2013
The Junior College welcomed the new crop of students for the 2013-2014 academic year. Each student was given a tour of the campus and provided with the information and tools necessary for success at the tertiary level.
They also participated in community building exercises through sports and competitions to foster camaraderie and promote team work.

August 8-9, 2013
Second year students gathered together to gain knowledge about pursuing their bachelor's degree and entering the workforce.
They listened to presentations by Dale Young, Ninon Martinez, and Dorien Villafranco, who provided valuable insight into life after SJCJC.
August 20, 2013
Hundreds of students rushed to the Student Center to claim a spot in the favorite club at the annual Club Fair. Many familiar faces were present to provide leadership to the new students and give advice about which clubs to join.
While many popular clubs returned with revitalized membership, there were also a few new clubs intended to spark the interest of the student body.
There was also a large amount of interest in the Super Cup tournament, which looks to be bigger and better than ever.
Dance Club Showcase
October 24, 2013
The SJCJC Dance Club, Determined to Entertain, put on quite a show in the Student Center on Thursday. They performed several different dances inspired by various cultural traditions.
Spectators were amazed by the physical ability and determination to the art of dance displayed by the club.
Look out for another performance next semester.

Dozens of students dug through their closets to find the craziest outfits for the Crazy Day costume contest. With an amazing amount of creativity and craftsmanship, they managed to frighten and entertain their peers.
The crowd also received a special demonstration from Mr. Perdomo, who showed everyone how to kill a zombie.
Wildcats Earn First Victory

The SJCJC football team took to Snyder's Field to engage in their first battle of the year against FC Jungle. After a hard fought 90 minutes, Wildcats FC defeated their opponent, 4-1.
Both teams agreed on a rematch, to be announced at a later date.
The SJC community congratulates the team and eagerly awaits more action on the new field.
Spartans Advance to Nationals

The SJCJC Spartans basketball team put on a strong showing in the ATLIB North Regional Tournament.
Game 1: SJCJC def. CJC 39-31
Game 3: SJCJC def. BAJC 69-31
Game 5: WJC def. SJCJC 64-62
They finished with a record of 2-1, qualifying them for the National Tournament in San Ignacio on Feb. 20, where the Spartans will fight for honor and glory against the best teams in the country. Aah Ooh!
Spartans Place Third in Nationals

The SJCJC Spartans basketball team retained its title as the best junior college in the country, but fell just short of the national championship.
After coming up short against Galen University in the semi-finals game, SJCJC defeated Wesley Junior College for third place.
The entire SJC community congratulates the Spartans, and commends their courage and honor.
SJCJC Finishes La Ruta Maya Challenge

The SJCJC La Ruta Maya Club put on a strong showing in the annual canoe race. Both teams had difficulties along the way, but they persevered to complete the race.
The SJC community is proud of the rowers, and thanks the sponsors and the Service Crew, which supported both teams for the duration of the race.
