First Toledo Students Graduate from SJCJC's Hybrid Associate Degree Program

St. John's College in Belize recently celebrated its first-ever hybrid class graduation. The cohort of 13 students from the Toledo district was awarded Associate's Degrees in Business, Computer Science, and Sciences, all with honors.

In 2021, St. John's College gave Toledo students the opportunity to be in hybrid classes so that they can receive a Jesuit education without having to leave their communities. Four hybrid classrooms were outfitted at the Junior College to accomodate students and to provide for teachers technological equipment to successfully teach in a hybrid format.

The hybrid class format allowed students to attend classes online while being able to see and participate in their sessions. It also provided them with the flexibility to balance their studies with other commitments. The graduating class is a testament to the success of the hybrid model, which enabled students to excel in their studies despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are extremely proud of our first hybrid class graduates," said the college's president, Mrs. Mirtha Peralta. "Their dedication and hard work have paid off, and we are confident that they will go on to achieve great things in their chosen fields. We are hopeful for their communities."

The graduates have expressed their gratitude to the faculty and staff of St. John's College for their support throughout their academic journey. They have also expressed their excitement about the opportunities that lie ahead and their determination to make a positive impact in their communities.

St. John's College is committed to providing quality education to all its students, and the success of its first hybrid class graduation is a testament to its dedication to this mission.
