Junior College Application Procedures

St. John's College Junior College is interested in candidates who have earned diplomas from recognized four-year secondary schools or have earned equivalent certification and who give evidence of capacity for continued growth, sensitivity to the moral and spiritual dimensions of life, and willingness to undertake rigorous academic work and personal development activities at the tertiary level. In addition, St. John’s College Junior College seeks to enroll students who will uphold the ideals which the College values and become fully involved in the College community, contributing to the intellectual growth of this community while pursuing their own personal growth and development.



St. John’s College Junior College welcomes applications from men and women of character, ability, and motivation and offers admission to students without prejudice to race, gender, religion, or socioeconomic status. The admissions policy of St. John’s College Junior College gives fair educational opportunity in accordance with the Constitution of Belize prohibiting discrimination on grounds of sex, race, place of origin, political opinions, colour, or creed.

Placement Exams

English & Math Placement Exam
(All Students)

SJC utilizes the ATLIB exams for determining placement in English and Math courses during the admission process. We highly encourage all applicants to take these exams as part of their application. If you have previously completed the ATLIB exams, please include a photocopy of your results with your application materials.

Chemistry Placement
(Math and Science Majors)

Applicants who choose Biology, Chemistry, Interdisciplinary Science, Pre Engineering, or Pre-Nursing as their first choice program on the SJCJC application must take a mandatory Chemistry Placement Exam on the scheduled exam date

Records

Directed Study

IMPORTANT: Permission for an independent study course must be granted by the Dean in consultation with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Registrar.  Permission to take a course independently must be granted before approaching a faculty member

Transfer of Courses

IMPORTANT: This form is to be used for approval of any courses that a regularly-enrolled student or student on leave wishes to take at another college/university. The form should be filled out before a course is taken. Otherwise, the student risks the possibility of future difficulties with meeting program requirements.

Drop/Add Form

Students can add or drop a course during add/drop week at the beginning of each semester.

Enrollment Verification

Application for verification of attendance. 

Audit Switch

This form is to be filled by students who want to switch from audited to credit courses.

Program Change

IMPORTANT: Deadline: one (1) week prior to registration dates scheduled for the semester in which a student plans to change.
