On September 19, 2025, St. John’s College Junior College (SJCJC) and Tropic Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding to continue supporting the dreams of aspiring Belizean aviators through the Howell Grange Aviation Scholarship.
Generously sponsored by Tropic Air, this scholarship covers 50% of tuition and fees over two years for recipients pursuing aviation studies. Named in honor of Captain Howell Grange and his heroic in-flight actions, the scholarship aims to open doors for the next generation of aviation leaders in Belize.
This year’s recipient, Abner Tun, distinguished himself with a 3.71 GPA and an Associate’s degree in Business with a concentration in Aviation Management. Abner will now continue his academic journey toward a Bachelor’s in Aviation Management at St. John’s College University, building on the strong foundation provided by this scholarship.
SJCJC celebrates Abner’s accomplishments and extends sincere gratitude to Tropic Air for its ongoing commitment to nurturing the future of aviation in Belize. Through initiatives like the Howell Grange Aviation Scholarship, St. John’s continues to empower students to achieve their dreams and soar to new heights.
